“We can no longer stop at a singular economic or community development strategy; we need equity-focused solutions that cut across all fields.”

— Angela Glover Blackwell

Collective History

The Uplands Community Collective was formed in 2020 after several years of community engagement and research on economic and housing disparities in Westminster. The Uplands Community Collective is a nonprofit uniquely positioned to leverage the economic opportunity of the Uplands development, which will invest over $1B over the next decade in the construction of 2,000+ new homes and a new mixed use area with neighborhood businesses, retail and offices in Westminster. The Uplands Community Collective aims to ensure this investment benefits the local economy, supporting existing small businesses, creating new workforce opportunities and building a stronger, more resilient place-based economy. The UCC team has decades of experience in aligning capital and physical resources to empower and enable residents to create high-opportunity communities.
